We hit 21 last Wednesday at Prayer Meeting

3 October 2007

It’s exam week still this week.  We moved prayer meeting to the ERC last Wednesday so that the students wouldn’t have to travel so far.  I suppose Sister Pat’s spaghetti had something to do with it too.  We had 21 attendees at prayer meeting.  Foremost on just about everyone’s mind was exams.  I was very heartened that they came to to ask for God’s help.

May God continue to hear our prayers!

We’ve hit 16 attendees.

12 September 2007

Quarters were cramped this evening as the young people arrived early for prayer meeting.  Excluding Pat & the kids, we hit 2.5 times more than our current membership.

“14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.”
2 Chronicles 7:14, 15, KJV.

It’s 2 weeks to go before exams.  They were either

  1. Serious about praying because they were worried about exams.
  2. They really wanted to seek God in obedience.
  3. They just wanted to have a good time together.

All the above apply.  May God grant changed lives in obedience to His Calling.

Church is Growing.

20 May 2007

We’ve been home in Chiangmai and this is our 3rd Sunday back.

  1. Church has grown in spite us not being around. That’s fantastic.
  2. The ministry of the English Resource Corner is now an outreach of the Lighthouse and will be supported in part from the Lighthouse. Praise the Lord.
  3. Gade is back in Bangkok on vacation and returning later this week.
  4. We’ve been emphasizing reaching out to our families. It’s been really heartening to see them cry out to the Lord on behalf of their loved ones.
  5. Prayer meeting is going strong. Attendance is 90% of church attendance. Pretty outstanding ratio.
  6. Been preaching on prayer. Last week, preached on the shortest prayer in the Bible. Mt 18:40 “Lord, save me.”
  7. Started on the Lord’s Prayer today. It’s really fun and heartening to see them become more lucid in the Word of God. Amen.

Our most eventful week at church so far

11 February 2007
  1. We hit 5 at prayer meeting on Wednesday. What a precious time. Exhortation from Psalm 37.
  2. Had an informal barbeque on Saturday. 19 from the neighbourhood including our family. Koi was the only non-neighbour. A very relaxed and good time. Thought the 3 Chiangrai girls might not come as we had a fairly intense witnessing time with them over Christmas.
  3. All our worship services so far haver been very enriching. The spirit has been excellent and today was no exception. Jack Samajitrungruang gave a moving testimony of God’s goodness since joining the army last October. He has been allowed to continue his studies by God’s Great Grace.  He was in danger of losing his scholarship if he had continued in the army.  He will elaborate more in his testimony later on.
  4. George McBride, a Navigator missionary,  gave a pointed message on Heaven and Hell from Luke 16. We are praying for the salvation of Apple’s mom and younger sister.
  5. Pat cooked fellowship lunch at our place for the 1st time, taking a break from packet lunch.
