Our 3rd Wednesday Prayer Meeting and 4th Worship Service

31 January 2007

We had 4 in attendance this evening.  Took, Gade, Pat & myself.  Thank God for a blessed time.  One thing on all our hearts is the salvation of loved ones in the family.  I shared from Isaiah 40 being a chapter of Hope and Strength.  I challenged us to pray for our loved ones according to John 16:24.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. (john 16:24).

We also had our 4th worship service on Sunday.  Gade spoke on “Christians facing trials.”  Koy lead the service for the 1st time.  I lead in singspiration.  Apple gave a moving testimony of how she came to Christ.  When will Apple’s mom and sister come to Christ?  Soon, we hope.  Ruth and Arunie were off at an orphanage, Thank God for their safe return.

Thank God for His Mercies.

There is a Loving God, All Supreme, Who gives light and illumines the darkness

21 January 2007

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:8, KJV.
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16, KJV.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8, KJV.

A young Bible college student wanted to impress a young lady whom he was enamored with. Writing her a note, he left her this verse [taken out of context]: “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3

She too being a Bible college student responded with a Bible verse[taken out of context too]. “Wherefore? because I love you not! God knoweth.” 2 Corinthians 11:11

God’s Love for us is far different. It is much more than romantic love.

So perhaps there’s something out there that’s bigger than us. But can we have a relationship with something or someone we do not know?

God Loves us. Much more than even parental love. God is interested in us. He Loves us so much that He gave knowing that it would cost Him His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Loving, Almighty God. Thank you for loving me. May your Love reach _______________ so that he/she will be aware of You. May he/she be so overwhelmed to know that You Love him/her so much because You created us in Your Image. May this bring him/her one step closer to knowing Your Son in a more personal way.

For your Contemplation:

For God [the Greatest Lover]
so loved [the Greatest Love]
the world [the Greatest Group],
that he gave [the Greatest Kindness]
his only begotten Son [the Greatest Gift],
that whosoever believeth [the Greatest Simplicity]
in him should not perish [the Ultimate Penalty],
but have everlasting life [the Greatest Positive Change].
(Joh 3:16).

God is Supreme and Creator

13 January 2007

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God”…Psalms 14:1a, Psalms 53:1a, KJV
“And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,” Romans 1:28, NAS

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7, KJV.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” Psalms 111:10, KJV.

Some think that there is no Supreme being, no all-powerful Creator. This is one of the biggest lies of the Devil. It is like the laptop computer I’m typing on right now saying “nobody made me, I just happened to come into being by myself.”

The result of no one above mankind means that we aren’t accountable to anyone. We become “#1” in our thinking.

Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, please open the understanding of _____________________ so that he/she will acknowledge You as the Creator, the all-powerful and Supreme God who made us. Please cause him/her to realize who You are by causing him/her to come to that all-important conclusion.

The Reason Why by John Laidlaw

Our First Worship Service

8 January 2007

Most everyone arrived early or on time because we had moved the service to 1030 am.  Gade was sick due to a viral fever but was able to lead the worship service.  Nathaniel preached on “Praying our friend or loved one into God’s Kingdom: God is Light.”  He also expounded on the church’s theme verse and our theme for 2007.  Details can be found at “Lighthouse BP Church Theme.”  There were 17 attendees.  Praise God that Apple’s mother and sister came again.  We have been praying for John who is in hospital suffering from a stroke.  His wife Angkhana came for the first time too.  Ying brought Wow, a young man who’s last visit to a church was 5 years ago.

Thank God for all the newcomers.  4 non-believers out of 17 is a very high ratio.  The first step in praying for our non-believing friends or loved ones is to ask God to open their spiritual eyes and allow them to acknowledge that they have a Heavenly Father.  Was able to give a very simple gospel presentation and then we fulfilled Angkhana’s request for us to pray for her husband as a church.

We had a good fellowship lunch and a good time together.  We also celebrated John’s 5th birthday.
