Monday morning 10am, 18 Dec 2006, Nat & Pat’s house.
Gade, Ying, Koy, Nelson, David & I had just said goodbye to Pat, Lilian, Lisa, Suzanne[Pat's sister and 2 daughters], John & Geoff as they left for Central. We sat down and were sharing praise and thanksgiving items when we heard a crash outside just as Pat drove out. We rushed out to see what had happened.
A couple on motorbike had come down the soi just as Pat came out of the driveway. Nobody in the car was injured. As I reversed the car so that the rider could come off the bike, the female began shouting and making loud comments. To this day, I’ve not met another belligerent local female such as this woman. She refused first aid or any help. Both rider and pillion had bruised left ankles and the woman was bleeding slightly. Our friends from the spa across the street tried to calm her down and ask her to speak nicely. We agreed to pay all damages but she refused to calm down or be consoled. Her “boss” [the man riding pillion] refused to get involved.
I told her we were calling the police so we could resolve things. She refused and rode off saying they were late for work. Miraculously, 2 policemen came riding down the soi just as she was leaving. She also spoke roughly to them.
The policeman were coming for their regular patrol and came in the nick of time. They concluded she wasn’t being sane or reasonable. So there stood about 15 of us…policemen, spa girls and all staring incredulously at them as they rode off.
She refused to be taken to the clinic. She refused help to take the bike to the mechanic. She said she would be in touch.
